Curriculum Vitae Jörg Hofmann

I was born on 07.12.1967 in Offenbach on Main, so I'm a real Hessian. However, I grew up in the Palatinate and completed my business administration studies at the University of Mannheim. The main points of my studies were industrial undertaking administration and economical informatics and the additional subject, rather untypical for BA, was "physical technology". My dissertation was about the possibilities of an industrial use of neural networks. In 1994, I graduated as a degree business administrator.

In April 1994, I started my career in Saarbrücken at IDS Prof. Scheer AG within business process optimization as an R/3 consultant. After a short trip to the SD module, came a quick change to business cross-section processes and an apprenticeship in controlling and in the project system. Then followed a series of projects in mechanical engineering and installation building. This work took me to Switzerland and Luxembourg. At the end of 1995, I was assigned to directing the "Finance" department.

In April 1996, I founded, with my friend and colleague Jochen Scheibler, PIKON GmbH.
Because I'm rather "pedant" than a logistician, I took over the departments Accountancy and EDP. Even as a manager, I'm still strongly involved in project works and a milestone certainly was the live start of the Telekom subsidiary T-Nova. In the middle of 1998, when we decided to create a R/3 development department, I returned to the "SAP school" with the first employees and together we learnt ABAP.
