John Frijns is my name. I was born in the Netherlands in July 1963 and grew up in the city of Maastricht.
After finishing the HEAO (hoger economische & administratieve opleiding) I started to work for a software house in Eindhoven. My first steps on the path of information technology where Cobol-programming. I guess you could say that a lot has happened since then.
After three years I switched to the DSM to become a Service-engineer for the Data-centre in Heerlen. In parallel I got an MBA degree in Informatics from a three year evening course at the University of Hasselt (B).
It was in 1995 I started to work in the SAP consultancy. First with PTT-telecom and later with Henkel in Duesseldorf (D). Especially the Henkel period was very typical, since it took me to countries like South-Africa, Indonesia, USA, Malaysia and Hungary. These were all roll out projects in the area of FI, CO and AA that mostly kept me in the country for a period of 4 months on average.
In 1998 I then founded my own company, called KAAP bvba. After one and a half year and after several projects with Henkel and Philips I then bumped into PIKON from Germany. Being in a project at Henkel-Ecolab we got to know each other well and decided that our future was a joined future.
On top of all this I would certainly want to mention as well that I love to spend time with my wife and three children and that I am absolutely lost in a hotelroom if I don't have a good book to read.
