SAF-T, the Standard Audit File for Tax, is an international standard file for electronic transfer of accounting and tax data from businesses to tax authorities or external auditors that need to review this data.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In this blog post,\u00a0I will explain how SAF-T works\u00a0and\u00a0which kind of SAP\u00a0solutions\u00a0exists\u00a0to manage\u00a0country-specific SAF-T requirements.\u00a0Moreover, I will provide you with the functional and technical process of SAF-T, explain the differences XML standard, that was created in 2005 by the OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development).\u00a0The aim was to create guidance\u00a0for the audit file itself as well as guidance on tax compliance.\u00a0The SAF-T is standardized in terms of format and meaning, however, there can be some\u00a0small\u00a0country-specific\u00a0elements that differ from country to country.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">SAF-T is already mandatory for VAT compliance in quite some countries, in Europe and even\u00a0outside of Europe.\u00a0In other countries it can be used on a voluntary basis,\u00a0but we expect\u00a0it to become mandatory in more countries in the future.\u00a0<\/span><span European country to implement SAF-T in 2008.\u00a0Later\u00a0countries such as\u00a0Luxembourg,\u00a0Poland, Norway\u00a0and\u00a0Angola\u00a0followed.\u00a0There are already some countries on the\u00a0roadmap\u00a0for mandatory SAF-T requirements\u00a0such\u00a0as\u00a0Hungary\u00a0(no fixed date)\u00a0and Romania.\u00a0Hungary is planned for late 2021 or early 2022, while Romania\u00a0intends to introduce SAF-T in 2022.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">It is important to note that\u00a0France and the Netherlands\u00a0have implemented other audit files, which\u00a0cannot be categorized under the\u00a0SAF-T\u00a0format.\u00a0France introduced\u00a0the\u00a0FEC\u00a0file\u00a0(Fichier\u00a0d\u2019Ecritures\u00a0Comptables)\u00a0and the Netherlands introduced\u00a0an\u00a0own\u00a0financial\u00a0audit file.\u00a0Both\u00a0formats are not based\u00a0on the OECD\u00a0standard.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section
