Optimize your intercompany processes efficiently under S/4HANA!

SAP Resource-Related Intercompany Billing (RRICB) is a standard solution in SAP S/4HANA that automates the internal billing of services between companies within the same corporate group and SAP system. It allows the service-providing entity to charge the receiving entity based on actual services rendered — such as time logged on internal projects.
Without RRICB, these internal billing processes are typically handled manually, often through spreadsheets and email, leading to errors, compliance risks, and time-consuming reconciliation efforts. RRICB solves these issues by introducing a streamlined, standardised, and fully integrated billing process that’s embedded in your SAP system.
The solution uses allocations done within the controlling module (CO) (like e.g. time recordings to internal projects or orders), evaluates them based on defined pricing rules, and automatically generates debit and credit memo requests based on the defined Intercompany relationship between the two partners. This ensures that all services rendered are documented, billed, and accounted for — consistently and transparently across your group structure.

RRICB is designed to handle intercompany processes across multiple countries, currencies, and tax requirements including potential E-document requirements.

With automated billing and clear documentation, month-end and year-end closing processes become faster and more reliable.

Costs are billed based on real service delivery, ensuring that internal services are accurately tracked and charged between legal entities.

RRICB integrates natively with SAP modules like Finance (FI), Controlling (CO), and Sales & Distribution (SD), avoiding data silos.

The solution ensures proper documentation and audit trails for all intercompany transactions, supporting tax and regulatory requirements.

RRICB automates the creation of intercompany billing documents, minimizing manual entries and reducing processing errors.
At PIKON, we follow a structured yet flexible approach to implementing SAP RRICB:
Process analysis – We begin with a thorough analysis of your current intercompany service processes and identify potential for automation.
Solution design – We design your RRICB setup based on your project structure, internal pricing rules, and SAP landscape, tax-requirement and accounting standards.
Implementation – Our consultants configure RRICB and integrate it with your existing SAP modules and SAP-interfaces.
Testing & training – We conduct end-to-end testing and provide training to your finance, controlling, and project teams.
Go-live support – After go-live, we ensure a smooth transition and help resolve any post-implementation questions.
Our goal is to provide a sustainable and scalable solution that simplifies your intercompany processes in the long term.
