Your Project with the SAP Activate Methodology
Participants specify the approach for their upcoming SAP project (e.g., S/4HANA implementation in the private cloud, S/4HANA implementation in the public cloud, SAC implementation, Datasphere implementation, S/4HANA upgrade, etc.) based on the SAP Activate method. You will develop a common view of the topics relevant to you, such as project organisation, work packages, time and resource planning, and develop a tailor-made preparation checklist for project success. This workshop is part of the Prepare phase of SAP Activate.
- Structure & clarity: You receive a transparent roadmap showing how projects can be prepared methodically and efficiently in accordance with SAP best practices.
- Roles & responsibilities: Clear allocation of tasks between IT, business and external partners.
- Realistic planning: Time and resource requirements are specified in concrete terms so that later bottlenecks can be identified and prevented at an early stage.
- Leverage best practices: You benefit from proven methods, templates and governance models that have been tried and tested in similar projects.
- Tailored results: Together, you develop a customised preparation checklist that can be used directly in your own project.
- Common goal: IT, business and finance develop a coordinated vision that provides certainty for decisions and priorities.

Companies are facing the challenge of making their IT system landscape fit for the future. Whether it’s the transformation to S/4HANA, the introduction of new reporting and planning solutions, or the implementation of a clean core strategy based on the SAP Business Technology Platform, the preparation phase determines the later success of the project. This is where uncertainties often arise:
- Which roles and responsibilities are essential in the project?
- How can time and resources be planned realistically?
- What deliverables can be expected in the individual phases of SAP Activate?
- How can governance, decision-making processes and collaboration with the implementation partner be set up efficiently?
In addition, business and IT have different expectations: while business demands fast results, high benefits and innovation such as AI, CIOs and CFOs focus on costs, resource commitment and long-term stability. Without a clear approach, there is a risk of delays, additional costs and a loss of acceptance within the company.
This is where the workshop comes in, creating a common basis for a structured, transparent and feasible approach with SAP Activate.
