Within a highly customised SAP system landscape tailored to the requirements of Germany’s public broadcasting organisations, the PIKON ELSTER Connector for SAP enables the Informations-Verarbeitungs-Zentrum (IVZ) to fulfil the requirements of the German Reporting Ordinance (Mitteilungsverordnung) efficiently and in full compliance with legal regulations, directly from within SAP.
Thanks to its seamless integration into existing applications, the solution enabled the Reporting Ordinance requirements to be implemented centrally for all participating public broadcasting organisations.
The Informations-Verarbeitungs-Zentrum (IVZ) is the central IT service provider for the ARD broadcasting network, Deutschlandradio and Deutsche Welle. The organisation is headquartered on the rbb campus in Potsdam, Germany.

IVZ required an efficient solution to ensure full compliance with the strict requirements of the German Reporting Ordinance (Mitteilungsverordnung). The objective was to centralise the exchange of reportable data between the public broadcasting organisations and the German tax authorities while eliminating time-consuming manual processing steps.
The PIKON ELSTER Connector for SAP seamlessly complements the existing SAP landscape. It enables IVZ to collect all reportable data in a central location and transmit it directly to the tax authorities. The solution also retrieves, evaluates and stores the official acknowledgement and processing logs returned by the tax authorities. This centralised approach provides users with a single point of communication for the digital exchange of information with both the broadcasting organisations and the tax authorities, ensuring compliance with the German Reporting Ordinance without media discontinuities, manual intervention or additional administrative effort.
By implementing digital reporting in accordance with the German Reporting Ordinance, IVZ has established a future-proof infrastructure that accommodates both the highly individual requirements of the broadcasting sector and the standardised requirements of statutory regulations.
